We provide free career training programs in skill-based training for staff in the construction and trades industry. Our programs complement your business by providing fully trained, jobsite-ready employees. We provide training on tools specific to each industry for hands-on training. Our programs are specifically designed to cultivate soft-skill development in job candidates as well. We focus on behaviour dynamics, group work and work to reduce personal barriers to employment. Our programs also include safety training, complete with certificates to ensure our candidates are field-ready from the start.

Upon completion our programming, clients will have experience on all relevant equipment and tools required for their specification, all required safety courses and tickets free of charge, as well as 6 weeks on the job experience.

Skill-Bit is a 12 Week Simulated Skilled Labour Workplace Training Program
Our program combines the essential skills and technical training necessary to prepare your prospective workers for success. We aim to support your business through support and skill-based training for your employees.
Our 12 week programs include technical tools and hard-skills training, and then go above and beyond to also provide Occupational Health & Safety Training, Essential Skills Training and Supports & Services.
Skill-Bit is funded by the Government of Alberta and is free for students to attend.

Student Eligibility
Skill-Bit is a FREE training program funded by the Government of Alberta. Individuals must meet the following criteria to access the program:
- Be 18+ Years of Age
- Be a Resident of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Able to make it daily to the Skill-Bit location in Fort Saskatchewan for transportation to Omnia's training site
- Are currently unemployed or under-employed
- Willing to commit to 12 weeks of Full-Time Training
